Daily Goal: After missing the Logging Show yesterday (had a little trouble getting out of bed after dancing my feet off at the Fall Fair Dance Saturday night) - I made a point of dragging Mike to see it before he headed to the golf course.
Trials & Tribulations: Silly man, he should have known the minute they asked for a volunteer from the audience, I would nominate him.
Successes: Mike just keeps getting better!
He took 2nd place in the Axe Throw! The way he's going, if he enters one more thing, he's bound to come in 1st place.
Failures:
- For Mike to look like a logger in his golf toggs.
- For Melissa to realize, when you leave the dance... if you offer a ride to a cowboy whose had too much to drink, you may get a bit more than you bargained for.

This guy's there for the bulls and the riders... not to "clown around" with the crowd.
His view of the rodeo was slightly closer than mine.

2nd Place winner in Women's Axe Throw... 84 year-old Edith Heywood from Clearwater - we grow 'em tough in the high country!

Youngest competitor in the Nail Pounding... 2 years old.

Mike retrieves his axe for his next throw - highest score after 3 throws, wins.

... and collects his 2nd place trophy, now mounted proudly on the mantle beside my Amazing Race trophy (mine's bigger).

Friends Pam and Kathy challenged each other in the Choker Relay.
Both came away dry after racing across a log, balanced over water, each dragging the choker behind. It's a good thing, too. We all know Kathy doesn't like to get her clothes wet.

Neglected to mention, I put Mike's hand up for the Saw Pull, too.

The midway, all lit up at night (the better to stumble home after the dance).
