Wrapping up Christmas

Ezra is happiest whenever food is involved!

Location: Here, there, and everywhere.

Daily Goal: Showcase Christmas in a nutshell.

Trials & Tribulations: We cooked TWO Christmas dinners, back-to-back this year. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I really should master the art of saying, "No," but who can resist when youngest daughter says,

"Mom, I've never cooked a turkey - do you think, if I supply it, you could teach me and we could do Turkey Dinner on Christmas day, too?"

In the end, it was worth the effort (as far as I'm concerned, turkey dinner doesn't take much to throw together, compared to the many-course Hungarian Christmas Eve traditional offerings) - and now that Jess knows the basics - SHE can host Christmas Day dinner at her house next year.

I'm likin' it :)

It makes a lot of sense, because this year Jess, Brett, Tessa, and Ezra arrived for Christmas Eve celebrations, complete with gifts (and diaper bags), then went home to open "Santa's offerings" at their house, and turned around and came right back the next day to throw the turkey in our oven.

Successes: I finally cashed in on Mike's stellar reputation for flower arranging. Silly me - why should this man only create masterpieces for Fall Fair?

Failures: For everything to "fit" into the car. Seems there's always an "Oh, wait a minute. . .  don't forget this one!" With the car packed to the rafters, the only place left was lucky Brett's lap for the commute to Clearwater as the four of them set off for Christmas with the Turcotte's.
