A step up

photo by J WebbLocation: Barriere (the pumpkin patch), 12°C, 9:30 am

Daily Goal: Bake banana bread ~ lots of it

Trials & Tribulations:
Very un-ferocious garden gnome seems to be doing a dandy job protecting my fledgling pumpkin from all potential outside threats. The leaves on the plant although large, seem to be covered with a white mildew - not affecting the pumpkin. I'm unsure what to do about it, if anything?

I didn't think it had grown much, but when I compared it to Aug 18 post I realized the little sucker has doubled in size in the last 2 weeks. His little umbilical flower has fallen off and he has matured to a much darker shade of green.

Successes: I believe it no longer qualifies as a "fledgling", he belongs a step up in the food chain. I shall dub him... drum roll please... a toddler pumpkin.

Failures:
For me to be able to sing, "Yes, we have no bananas. We have no bananas, today!"

Seems my eyes were much larger than my stomach and the large bunch of bananas I bought to snack on are now a large bunch of very ripe bananas that no one will touch with a ten foot pole.
